Compare the required storage space to the available storage space on the board.  The storage capacity figures for the various on-board memories are listed in the Starter Kit User Guide.

take a look at the reference design page for the s3e board:

There you find some designs that use different nonvolatile storages (SPI-Flash, StrataFlash).
Besides the capability of programming these via the UART interface, you also find the interface designs there, that you can adapt for using in your design.
