The 'GPIB' subfolder contains the examples using the National Instruments' NI-488.2 functions, and the 'HPIB' subfolder contains the examples using Agilent SICL (even today's latest Agilent I/O Libraries still include the SICL functions). Some years later was when the VISA standard was established and then everyone started producing examples using the VISA interface methods.

Thank you. That is just what I wanted. I can understand the GPIB programs in C much better than the HPIB stuff in Basic!

I suspect most of those programs would compile on my Sun SPARC with few if any changes. Currenlty the only machine I have here with a GPIB card is the Sun, but I hope to get a Linux or Windows machine with one soon.
