I was able to borrow a working 33250A to do some comparison testing. First, in order to rule out a power supply problem I swapped the power supplies from one to the other. Both power supplies worked in the borrowed instrument, but the borrowed power supply did not change the behavior of my failing instrument. Then I *very carefully* swapped the four system ROMS between the instruments. Both sets worked in the borrowed instrument, but the borrowed set did not change the behavior of my instrument at all, as far as I could tell. Interestingly, the ROMs from the borrowed unit are marked 1.03 but contain version 1.05 firmware. The ROMs from my instrument are marked 1.03 and have version 1.03 firmware. I also did a visual comparison of the main boards to see if there were any obvious differences, but did not see any. Any ideas on what to try next? Is there a CLIP available for the 33250A? Thanks!
