There might be a more appropiate Agilent forum, as a Vector Modulation Analyzer is nothing like a vector network analyzer.

  Thank you. However, I will not buy a manual. This is HP around 1980-90. Surely I will find something on the web. If not, it is an old style regulator board (a few FETs, BJTs and lin-regs) - easy to trace out on a napkin.

I guess I was wrong hoping that some Agilent engineer would post a link - after all many of the older instruments have service manuals with schematics linked to their product website. HP Heritage and others even scan manuals today. 

Guess I am spoiled by the level of positive activity on forums like TI and ADI. Won't waste any more time here.
 
As for the instrument class, there is no obvious category (in the Agilent 'menu') to put this instrument. Most boxes with a large rectangular greenish screen :) will have similar PSUs.

PDF copies of manuals tend to be pretty cheap.

Maybe if you had followed my suggestion and asked on the HP/Agilent Yahoo group, you would have got an answer. With 3379 members, and 184 messages in the last week, it is quite active.  But you chose to ignore that advice.

It's no problem then.

Agilent engineers are on the whole pretty helpful. Agilent as a company are on the whole pretty helpful. But you are asking about an old product, in a forum which is certainly unrelated to that product.

为什么安捷伦会向工程师支付费用来帮助您对过时的不支持的测试设备进行故障排除？

Why would Agilent pay an Engineer to help you troubleshoot an obsolete not supported test equipment?
I dont even see a forum on other companies that make test equipment.

Thats right for obsolete test equipment and even supported ones the schematics are propietary. You could probably get a block diagram or assembly manuals. I dont know if you notice that Agilent make profits repairing the equipment they make.

Again, obsolete NOT SUPPORTED test equipment you are lucky if an Agilent Engineer answer your question or even knows about that particular old equipment.

Good, so go find a PS schematic of any large rectangular greenish screen
