Clarify me below things to help you with licensing issues:
 
1. Did you ever generated 30 day Vivado evaluation activation based licensing for windows or linux?
2. From the attached xlicclientmgr -v and xinfo log file, I see that no activation licenses are generated using linux machine.
 
If you trying to generate the license for linux machine, let me know:
 
1. Is the attached request.xml/html are generated on linux machine?
2. whats the output of xlicclientmgr -sr ?

From the xlicclientmgr -v output it seems there are no licenses installed on your machine.
 
From which machine did you genrate 30-days Evaluation License?
You need to return the license from the same machine on which you have genrated this license.
Then only you will be able to genrate it for other machine.

I think I might be looking at this the wrong way.  What is the diiference between a
certificate based license and an activation based license?  The greyed out section
is the activation based license.  The certificate based license appears to be available.
 
Since I'm only looking to get an evaluation license, I would think that there isn't anything
I would need to return in order to do so.  Is an activation based license a purchased
license?

Two more things:
 
1.  When I try going to the entitlement page to get a certificate based license, I get a message
saying that the license will be limited by the expiration date of my node-locked, device-locked
license (I have KC705 board).
 
2. When I try to access the entitlement page running the Vivado license manager, I get an error
saying: "Unable to load License Rights into Trusted Storage. The response is not valid for this machine"
 
These are the errors I'm getting from my linux box.  I'm going to try installing 2014.4 on my Win7
machine and see if I can pull a license for that install.
