As a first suggestion, before doing any changes, please back up any important information stored on the PC.
 
We recommend to install the Intel® RST version provided by the manufacturer of the board, in this case ASUS, since they will provide the proper version for your platform.
I looked for the model of your board and there are different results for the Asus Z87 motherboard, if you provide the specific model of it, we can always try to look for the Intel® RST version that will be compatible with it:
