Yes, at $4500 it is about the price you pay today for the full instrument.
 
I was lucky and got my "new" switch at ebay for $300 (old switch dead when I got the instrument). Typically the price is about double or more and no warranty.
 
If you really need to measure with full power at 10-30 kHz you could try with a coaxial relay like in the earlier VNA models.
There is a setting in 8753D to turn off continuous switching that you should use if you try the relay or it will quickly destroy itself.
 
I was not aware of the U9397A at the time but it seems to be a good alternative. HP/Agilent used to have quite generous specs so if they say min 300 kHz it will most likely work well below that. The penalty will be lower power and lower dynamic range / accuracy (more insertion loss and worse return loss) but still possible to measure at least down to 100 kHz as you calibrate your setup including the switch.

The cheapest alternative (and to verify the broken switch) is to connect a coax to bypass the broken switch and terminate the other path, but then you can only measure S21 and S11 or S12 and S22 by traditional DUT reversal.
