Lots of good info there. During setup for the "external test set", I needed to turn the source on for either Port 1 or Port 2, and vary the power to insure that the input to the DUT was up to 33 dBm, and the ET was up to 24 dBm on the output side. I had to exit the NVNA app, exit the PNA app, and restart the PNA app. This was so that I could use the "Power and Attenuators" box to turn the ports on and off, and adjust the source power. There is even a spot so that one can enter the difference between the source power and power at the DUT. Has there been any consideration to incorporate this box into the NVNA app? I am running NVNA firmware 02.04.03 on my N5242A. |

In general, the NVNA was setup without considering the any offsets in sources and receivers, so that it was more generic. But in fact, I think it might be better to allow more specific offsets to be entered just like in the PNA, so that power settings without calibration are better aligned. I think doing so will reduce the difficulties sometimes found when using external devices. |
