I'm trying to setup several channels of power sweep, with a very fast sweep time (IF bandwidth set to very high value, 10MHz) with averaging turn on and average count of 16. My question is, when I started to sweep the channels one by one (continuous sweep), the averaging time seems to be very slow on each particular channel. What I meant here is that it takes some time for a channel to complete the total 16 averaging count. This despite, I have set the rest of the channels sweep mode to Hold. I have more than 10 channels and each channels have at least two S21 traces (one phase, another log). But when I set up the similar measurement (similarly high IF bandwidth) on only ONE channel, the averaging time is pretty fast (takes about 1 second to complete the averaging). Is this normal or is there any other settings I need to tweak when I setup more than one channels? |

I attached here a setup of one channel , power sweep with averaging factor set to 16, 10MHz IF bandwidth. When one try to restart the averaging, the process is very fast, faster than blink of an eye. (SingleChannel.sta) Another state file I attached here is a 5 channels power sweep with similar setting as above. When I tried to restart the averaging on one of the channels, the process of completing the averaging is a bit slower than the state above (with single channel). Why is that so? (FiveChannels.sta) This may not be that obvious with 5 channels but my test sometimes have to setup about 50 channels (because of the number of frequencies I need to measure) and the averaging process is somehow slowed down because of this (or maybe there's other reason, which is why I post here :)) I'm using a PNA-X, N5241A, 2 ports, firmware A.09.80.20 附件
